The Importance of Integrative Therapy in Medical Settings, Part Three
Suffering from multiple health issues and being told by some doctors that it was all in my head, made me look deeper at what is available for us. I began learning about the concept of energy healing, Reiki, and hypnotherapy. I started learning about the power of using essential oils and aromatherapy, eating healthy, taking the right supplements, and incorporating dancing and working out in my daily routines. It was then when I witnessed the miracle happening before my eyes.
I began to feel better each day, have more power and stamina, and feel truly happy.
Answer to My Prayers
As I was learning and hoping to find a professional environment to incorporate alternative health and healing, I found a home health and hospice agency in Northern California eight years ago. I knew it was the answer to my prayers and the guidance of my spirit.
I decided to move and work there to learn how it could help our patient population. It was the best experience and investment I have ever made in my life. We were able to keep our patients out of emergency rooms and hospitals, and they were discharged from our service after a few short months. Offering integrative therapy to our patients provided excellent quality care, and saved the company money, and we became one of the elite home health and hospice agencies in the area.
I decided to learn more skills and obtain different certifications, such as in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Pain Management, Nutrition and Health, and Hypnotherapy in order to help others.
I moved back to the Portland, Oregon area three years ago in hopes of creating the same model here. Unfortunately, there are not that many health care settings willing to offer alternative health care.
Emerge Hypnosis is Born
This is the reason I decided to open my own private practice, Emerge Hypnosis, to be able to incorporate other healing modalities to help my clients. We need to look at health and healing from a different perspective. It is about the healing of mind, body, emotion, and spirit. Without one, healing cannot happen or take place.
There are many forms of healing modalities, such as energy healing, Reiki, hypnosis, massage, tai chi, Qigong, acupuncture, chiropractic, aromatherapy, and homeopathic and natural medicine. The list goes on and on.
I know and believe in the power of Western medicine, but this is not the only way of healing. There are many aspects of health and healing.
By focusing on one and ignoring the others, we experience more health issues. Not being able to address these facts, we have created a society with many different forms of life-threatening and chronic health issues.
We have many people on disability; either physical or mental. They have lost hope and given up on themselves. Health care providers are unable to answer their questions. Doctors and medical professionals are scratching their heads and wondering what to do. We have different and new medical diagnoses coming to the surface every day. We have antibiotic-resistant microorganisms that don’t respond to treatments.
Our medical professionals are stressed and burned out. Many of them don’t even like what they do any longer. The issue of focusing on one aspect of health and healing is not answering or helping us any longer. We need help; we need to bring more awareness to what is missing in our lives and in our medical world.
When we have choice, we have hope. My life’s work is to restore faith and hope in those who thought there was no solution. Further, I love guiding clients to the most abundant self.
Many of the issues people deal with are a direct result of abundance, or lack thereof, in all areas of their life.
